HooteSuite’s new command center brings mission control to businesses

The popular Vancouver based social media dashboard HootSuite is unveiling a comprehensive new “Command Center” product, which will give enterprises a master control for managing real-time social media conversations concerning their brand.

Community managers and social media managers of all stripes will be intrigued by the new physical command center, which is inspired by the giant TV screens at the New York Stock Exchange.

The rise of social media marketing

Debuting just four years ago in 2008, HootSuite’s existing platform allows users to manage several different social networks via a single dashboard. Today, it’s a global social media brand in its own right, used by individuals and businesses alike.

Businesses are capitalizing on social media in numerous ways. Facebook recently awarded exclusive “Strategic Preferred Marketing Developer” status to the12 best social marketing tool and service providers, while “new kid on the block” Sum Zero offers a unique social media space tailored for private investors around the world. Google also displayed their social media enterprise credentials, recently spending $250 million to acquire social media marketing specialists Wildfire.

NASA comes to the office?

Tapping into the huge potential afforded by social media for customer communication on marketing, sales, customer service and so on, the new command center will enable big firms to engage much more holistically with just about all the conversations flying around the virtual ether that feature their brand. And it will do it in one central, physical location – don’t think of tablets and smartphones only, think of Mission Control at NASA. The Center will comprise three core components: mobile devices equipped with bespoke apps, workstations and wall displays.

HootSuite’s CEO Ryan Holmes explains, “All the features that make the HootSuite dashboard an invaluable tool for businesses will now be given a throne in the hearts of these same companies; a hub where every social interaction can be seen, studied and spread. HootSuite continues to develop and acquire tools to support the growing needs of today’s social businesses who take advantage of the opportunities for return of investment through proper engagement with social.”
