You should be fluent in topics relating to action sports, new music, and art (particularly, street art). The ideal candidate should also have a broader perspective of how these topics fit into the pop-culture landscape. They are looking for an ambitious social media guru who can help to develop Green Label’s unique voice alongside the site’s Editor-in-Chief and greater editorial team, and use it to effectively promote their content and attract new fans and followers.
Who is the ideal Community Manager for Green Label?
The ideal candidate will have a vision for creating and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy in a crowded landscape, as well as experience managing social channels for a brand. An aptitude for adopting and using Internet slang, memes, etc. in a non-corny way is a huge bonus. Manage Green Label’s presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, etc. to extend the brand and drive traffic to the website and engagement on the platforms.
Envision and execute effective social media strategy for Green Label. Create innovative social media initiatives on other platforms, including (but not limited to) Google+, Vine, and Snapchat.
Engage with fans across all platforms to build a community. Maintain client guardrails across all channels. Communicate social initiatives and data to client. Work with Green Label EIC and relevant internal departments at Complex to apply social strategy to other aspects of the business, including offline events and branded content. Fostering conversations and relationships with Green Label featured brands and artists in the long term.
You must have a tireless work ethic and great attention to detail. Excellent written and communication skills. Knowledge and familiarity with action sports, music, and street art. Desire to innovate and stay on top of new trends in social media. Ability to multitask and switch gears quickly. Experience working with clients is a plus.
