Tech Asia recent­ly report­ed that Groupon Sin­ga­pore opened the world’s first Groupon retail store in Singapore’s Sun­tec City Mail today. The COO of Groupon, Adri­an Tan, explains that the first shop can be thought of as a “con­cept store.” The prac­ti­cal pur­pose will be to deliv­er bet­ter ser­vice and pro­vide enhanced inter­ac­tion with its shop­pers. This is no sim­ple goal, but it seems as if their new store will be able to accom­plish the task.

The shop will allow the cus­tomers of the com­pa­ny to pick up prod­ucts which they have pur­chased from the Groupon site and iPads will be pro­vid­ed with­in the store, which will allow shop­pers to redeem their dai­ly deals coupons instan­ta­neous­ly. This is a unique con­cept, which makes the com­pa­ny unique and pro­vides a social impact.
