We’re lookÂing for a dynamÂic, innoÂvÂaÂtive and pasÂsionÂate comÂmuÂniÂcaÂtions chamÂpiÂon to impleÂment pubÂlicÂiÂty and proÂmoÂtions iniÂtiaÂtives at Ottawa’s two comÂmuÂniÂty TV staÂtions. ResponÂsiÂbilÂiÂties include:
- ConÂtributÂing to the elabÂoÂraÂtion of the staÂtions’ comÂmuÂniÂcaÂtions plans and ensurÂing their implementation
- WritÂing news releasÂes, webÂsite feaÂtures, video scripts, tune-in proÂmos and othÂer proÂmoÂtionÂal pieces.
- WritÂing updates, feed conÂtent and build iniÂtiaÂtives to driÂve comÂmuÂniÂty memÂbers’ engageÂment on Rogers TV and TV Rogers’ social touch points includÂing the webÂsite, FaceÂbook and Twitter.
- WorkÂing with ad agenÂcies to coorÂdiÂnate the disÂtriÂbÂuÂtion of adverÂtisÂing mateÂriÂals and the develÂopÂment of ad campaigns
- WorkÂing closeÂly with the manÂageÂment team to proÂmote access opporÂtuÂniÂties through a comÂmuÂniÂty outÂreach proÂgramme which includes annuÂal Open House events for each staÂtion and parÂticÂiÂpaÂtion in volÂunÂteer recruitÂment activities
- DevelÂopÂing and mainÂtainÂing media conÂtact lists for print, broadÂcast and elecÂtronÂic media, conÂnectÂing with key reporters on a regÂuÂlar basis with a view to buildÂing effecÂtive relationships
- GenÂerÂatÂing earned media for the staÂtions by develÂopÂing and mainÂtainÂing relaÂtionÂships, writÂing, disÂtribÂutÂing and folÂlowÂing-up on news releasÂes as well as preparÂing monthÂly readÂing books
- WorkÂing closeÂly with the CreÂative SerÂvices ManÂagÂer on the impleÂmenÂtaÂtion of broad adverÂtisÂing and comÂmuÂniÂcaÂtions initiatives
- AcquirÂing comÂpetÂiÂtive quotes for merÂchanÂdise by searchÂing and recÂomÂmendÂing proÂmoÂtionÂal items while mainÂtainÂing an accuÂrate invenÂtoÂry of proÂmoÂtionÂal material
- CoorÂdiÂnatÂing Rogers TV’s ComÂmuÂniÂty CruisÂer schedÂule and all relatÂed comÂmuÂniÂcaÂtion pieces and workÂing colÂlabÂoÂraÂtiveÂly with TV Rogers team to ensure the most effecÂtive deployÂment of resources
- SeekÂing media opporÂtuÂniÂties, speakÂing engageÂments and/or appearÂances for key on-air talent
- DevelÂopÂing and impleÂmentÂing viewÂer conÂtests as well as speÂcial events
- Keep accuÂrate finanÂcial records for budÂget purposes
- Meet all legal and polÂiÂcy requireÂments under Health & SafeÂty Legislation
Qualifications:
- UniÂverÂsiÂty or colÂlege degree in PubÂlic RelaÂtions, AdverÂtisÂing, ComÂmuÂniÂcaÂtions or a relatÂed field
- A minÂiÂmum of 3 years of expeÂriÂence in a proÂmoÂtions or marÂketÂing environment
- SupeÂriÂor bilinÂgual comÂmuÂniÂcaÂtions skills (French and EngÂlish) with a talÂent for creÂative writing
- DeskÂtop pubÂlishÂing skills will be conÂsidÂered an asset
- The abilÂiÂty to work flexÂiÂble hours, includÂing evenings and occaÂsionÂal weekends
- Strong orgaÂniÂzaÂtionÂal and interÂperÂsonÂal skills with the abilÂiÂty to priÂorÂiÂtize in order to meet changÂing deadline
- Proven comÂputÂer abilÂiÂties, includÂing expeÂriÂence using MS Office Suite
- A valid driÂver’s license
